Pin Type Porcelain Insulators
High-voltage pin-type insulators are mainly used for insulation and support of conductors in high-voltage overhead transmission lines. They are categorized into five levels based on rated voltage: 6, 10, 15, 20, and 35 KV. Pin-type insulators consist of porcelain pieces and steel feet (or threaded sleeves) bonded together with silicate cement. The porcelain pieces are white or brown, and the steel feet are hot-dip galvanized.
