Butterfly Type Porcelain Insulators
Butterfly-type porcelain insulators for high-voltage overhead distribution lines are used at the terminals and on tension and angle poles as insulation and fixation for conductors. They are also widely used in conjunction with line suspension insulators as a component of line hardware, simplifying the hardware structure. Butterfly insulators have porcelain pieces with two (old model) or four (new model) large umbrella skirts, resembling butterflies.
